Have you had such a case?
- Difficulty in matching fit?
-
Due to the combined tolerances of the bush bore diameter and the shaft diameter, accuracy can be affected by 'clearance' or increased dynamic friction caused by preloading.
- Obtaining the proper fit?
-
In some extreme cases, slide bush and shaft assembly was avoided due to uncontroled clearance issues. As a result alternative linear guide had to be used and production cost increased.

*Refere to our latest general catalog for details.
*Please specify on the drawing about the shaft machining, radial clearance, match-making, etc.
Recommended radial clearance
Depending on the application, the range varies. Please use the chart below for a guideline.

Slide Bush: Negative radial clearance limit
Negative clearance is opted to reduce backlash. Please refer to the chart below for the recommended negative clearance (preload) limit.

*Off-centered housing bore can cause uneven loading on the Slide Bush. Please pay special atention to
the centering of the housing especially when negative clearance is required.
*Please contact NB for assistance when extra preload is required for other NB products such as SRE, SR,
etc.
